Judith Miller (Mannia -Dickson) VIEW PROFILE

On May 4, 2021, Judith Anne (Miller) Dickson, 55, of LaPorte, IN passed away surrounded by family at IU Health in Indianapolis.

She was born December 7, 1965, in Michigan City, IN to Merrill and Jeanie (Yoder) Miller.

Judy graduated from Ball State University and has served LaPorte County as a social worker for over 30 years, specializing in Alzheimer’s and Dementia programming. Judy served as a dedicated caretaker not only for her patients but also for family members in need, often seeing them off to the other side. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church of La Porte.

Judy had an eclectic sense of style and got a kick out of antiquing for treasures. She was an excellent cook, making up her recipes as she went along, and found joy in hosting her family and friends. She always made sure you had enough to eat before leaving. She played softball for many years and was very creative. She used to make funky antique button brooches that many friends are still sporting after 20 plus years! While she will be dearly missed, we are at peace knowing she had an awesome crew waiting that welcomed her in with open arms.

She is survived by her loving husband Scott Dickson, her twins Brynn and Brayde Hines, her brother, and sister-in-law Scott and Jamie Miller, and nephew Jake. Her family also extended to Scott’s children Victoria (Ben) Fletcher, Emma and Josh Dickson, and grand-children, Ashlyn and Cody. Also surviving are her special aunts and cousins, her lifelong BFF Lisa. Her family also extended to her stepdaughter, Katie Mannia; and Scott’s children Victoria (Ben) Fletcher and Emma and Josh Dickson, and grandchildren, Ashlyn and Cody.

She was proceeded in death by her parents and late husband Jack Mannia.
